The track list that consists a repetitive alternation of acoustic guitar and beat of ‘Take Time’, a sense of serenity created by the flow of ‘I Shed My Skin’, the experimental sounds of ‘Choice’, the evocation of a peculiar aura through ‘Decent Talk’, and finally a large spectrum of sounds rendered in ‘Saeroun-Gaejul (새로운 계절: A New Season)’ all give a glimpse of what this Korean instrumental duo is all about.

In addition to Verbal Jint and guitarist Eui Jun Jung who have shown successful collaboration with the duo in their past EP, DJ Jun, active in Japan, Korea and Australia, and JNPB, producer and MC in Korea’s underground hip hop scene has participated as guest artists. Lastly, Size of Fullbite released their first music video of the track ‘I Shed My Skin’ that can be found in their homepage (http://sizeoffullbite.com).


THUS Group의 FakeSB와 Ganeda, 둘로 이루어진 사운드 유닛 Size Of Fullbite가 지난 데뷔 EP이후 2년이 넘는 세월을 돌아 2008년 12월 2번째 EP “Mystery”를 발표하였다. 그들만의 독특하고 실험적인 사운드를 발했던 지난 데뷔Ep에 비해, 이번 앨범에선 좀 더 안정적인 비트에 어쿠스틱한 사운드와 다양한 음악적 시도가 녹아들어 있다. 무엇보다 깊은 감정의 울림을 전달하고자 한 음악적인 욕심이 엿보인다.

어쿠스틱기타 연주가 반복되는 1번 트랙 “Take Time”과 Verbal Jint가 참여한 “I Shed My Skin”에서의 차분한 플로우와 목소리는 청자의 감성을 자극 할 만하고, 타이틀 트랙인 “Mystery”는 Disco와 Hiphop 및 Industrial 사운드가 가미된 비트에, 맛깔스러운 JNPB의 피쳐링이 더해져 그야말로 신비로운 사운드를 발산한다. 또한 유일하게 한글로 이름지워진 연주곡 “새로운 계절[saeroun-gaejul]“에서는 우주만큼 넓은 음역의 폭 중심에서 풍부한 감정의 카타르시스를 느낄 수 있다. DJ Jun이 참여한 “Decent Talk”와 죽음을 주제로 하는 테마곡 “Choice”에서도 Size Of Fullbite의 독특한 감성과 재치를 맛볼 수 있다.

앨범 전반에 흐르는 어쿠스틱 사운드는 Size Of Fullbite 음악의 핵심 요소이다. 이러한 음악적 오리지널리티와 융합되어 장르를 넘나드는 그들의 새로운 시도는, 특별히 혼란스러운 현 시대를 사는 리스너의 마음과 귀를 충분히 자극할 것이다.

Their recently debuted EP contains a wide-range of sounds, from dramatic songs made of dry and striking beats to ambient and shoe-gazing-like guitar pop. So rather than simply mixing different genres, they create a category of their own. The participation of Verbal Jint, a highly regarded musician in the Korean hip-hop scene who’s a friend of the group, and Eui-Jun Jung, also a colleague and guitarist, adds credibility and substance to their music.

It’s difficult to find music that exudes Sound of Fullbite’s kind of air, because unlike most artists whose styles stem from an affection and curiosity for a single specific genre, Sound of Fullbite blends an interest and knowledge in a variety of styles and continues to strive towards creativity with a desire to express something new.


Size Of Fullbite는 드러머 Fake와 베이시스트 Ganeda로 이루어진 사운드 유닛이다. 90년대 후반부터 락밴드의 일원으로, 라이브/레코딩 세션 및 콘서트 테크니션으로 활동하였던 경력을 가지고 있는 이들은 또한THUS AWC(http://www.thethus.com)의 멤버로서 Indiependent clothing 제작과 스텐실, 스티킹 등의 Streetart와 캠페인을 진행하여 왔다.

Beck, David holmes, Cornelius 등의 어쿠스틱과 전자음이 공존하는 실험적인 일렉트로닉 비트에 빠져있던 Fake와 Ganeda는 RJD2와 같은 인스트루멘탈 비트와 pop, electronica 음악에 대한 각자의 애정을 그들의 출발점이었던 밴드음악의 토대 위에서 다시 구성하여 ‘새로운 형태’의, 달리 설명하기 힘든 말그대로’그들만의 음악’을 만들기로 의기투합한다.

이에 약 육개월 간의 준비를 통해서 본 Size Of Fullbite 의 셀프타이틀 EP를 선보이게 된다.상반된 여러가지 음악적 요소, 이를테면 어쿠스틱과 일렉트릭, 흑인음악과 백인음악, 테크닉과 필 같은 서로 상충되는 여러가지 요소들을 절묘하게 배치하여 새로운 느낌과 감성을 자극할 수 있는 그야말로 ‘새로운, 그들만의 음악’ 을 만들어내는 것이 이들의 목표다. Verbal Jint의 참여는 이러한 이들의 목표에 완벽히 부합하는 것이었다. 개인적인 친분을 떠나서 이들의 콜라보레이션은 서로에게 서로가 아니였다면 얻을 수 없는 새로운 느낌을 매우 성공적으로 만들어 내었다. 또한 멤버들의 소울메이트인 친구 정의준의 기타세션 역시 곡의 느낌을 한층 진하게해주었다.

‘완전한 신인’인 Size Of Fullbite는 다른 어떠한 팀에게서도 찾아보기 힘든 색다른 음악적 크리에이티비를 발산하며 한국의 언더그라운드 음악 scene에 Fresh 한 vibe를 퍼트릴 준비를 완료하였다
